Comprehensive guidelines and regulations for maintaining discipline and excellence in our school community

General Offences and Punishment

To promote discipline, responsibility, and a positive learning environment, Preset Pacesetters Senior High School has established clear rules and regulations for all students.

For the benefit of students, parents, and guardians, general offenses and their corresponding sanctions have been summarized to ensure awareness, fairness, and accountability within the school community.

Offences and Punishments

OFFENCES PUNISHMENT
Repeated pattern of disrespect towards the school staff. The first instance of insubordination will result in disciplinary assignments, such as scrubbing a designated washroom for two weeks. A subsequent offense will result in dismissal.
Disrespectful behavior towards prefects of the school. Sweeping the classroom and dusting of tables and chairs.
Use of indecent language. Sweeping a given area for 2 days.

Improper dressing includes the following:

- Wearing jewelry (rings, necklaces, among others.)

-     Students’ shorts/skirts must not fall below the waist. 

- Shoes/sandals should be black with white socks. Sandals should not exceed half an inch.

Sweeping a classroom for one (1) week and confiscation of the item. The confiscated item will be given to the parent/guardian after a bond of good behavior is signed by the student. 

The use of unprescribed attire and sandals 

Confiscation of the item in question. The confiscated item will be given to the parent/guardian after a bond of good behavior is signed by the student.

Fighting in school

First Offence: The student will serve an initial two-week external suspension. Upon return, the student must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to sign a bond of good behavior before being readmitted.

Subsequent Offense: A repeat offense will result in immediate dismissal from the school.

Leaving the school campus without permission.

First Offence: The student will serve an initial two-week external suspension. Upon return, the student must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to sign a bond of good behavior before being readmitted.

Subsequent Offense: A repeat offense will result in immediate dismissal from the school.

Possession of dangerous drugs/smoking Dismissal

Possession or use of dangerous drugs, including smoking

Confiscation of the drug and immediate dismissal.

 

Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages

             

First Offense: The student will serve an initial two-week external suspension. Upon return, the student must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to sign a bond of good behavior before being readmitted.

Subsequent Offense: A repeat offense will result in immediate dismissal from the school.

Stealing

Immediate dismissal.

Physical assault on member of staff

 

A four-week external suspension. Upon return, the student must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and sign a bond of good behavior before being readmitted.

Depending on the circumstances of the assault, outright dismissal may be applied.

Physical assault on prefects

 

A four-week external suspension. Upon return, the student must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and sign a bond of good behavior before being readmitted.

Depending on the circumstances of the assault, outright dismissal may be applied.

 

Negligence of duty by prefects

 

A warning will be issued initially, followed by removal from the prefect position if the behavior persists.

Habitual lateness to school

Students may be asked to wash the school’s garbage bins and sign a bond of good behavior with parents present. Continued offense may lead to a 2-week suspension.

Failure to attend school gatherings without valid reasons

 Required to scrub the washroom for three consecutive days

Engaging in bullying or causing harm to fellow students

A two-week external suspension, signing a bond of good behavior, and possible dismissal for repeated offenses.

Receiving visitors during school hours without prior permission

 Required to scrub the washroom for three consecutive days

Dyeing of hair

 

Required to remove hair dye, scrub the washroom for a week, and sign a bond of good behavior

Possession and use of dangerous weapons, e.g., knives, daggers, etc. Outright dismissal
Refusal to do or complete prefect’s punishment Required to scrub of the washroom for three consecutive days
Refusal to do or complete teacher’s punishment Students may be asked to wash the school’s garbage bins and sign a bond of good behavior with parents present. Continued offense may lead to a 2-week suspension
Malpractice during Bi-weekly, End of term examinations or class tests.  Cancellation of papers and sign a bond of good behavior with parents present.
Breaking of louver blades, furniture, electrical switches/plugs, etc. The student shall be surcharged twice the cost of the damaged item and required to sign a bond of good behaviour in the presence of parents
Instigating students to demonstrate External suspension with the possibility of dismissal, depending on the severity of the offense.
Unprescribed hair style Correction of hairstyle and signing of a bond of good behavior.
Persistent absence from class  An initial warning will be issued, followed by the signing of a bond of good behavior in the presence of parents. Repeated offense may lead to dismissal.
Sexual immorality Outright dismissal

A student engaging in an altercation with a member of staff

An initial warning will be issued, followed by the signing of a bond of good behavior in the presence of parents. A repeated offense may lead to 2-week internal suspension with punishment

Possession of mobile phones, radio sets, and other electronic gadgets

Confiscation of the item in question. The confiscated item will be given to the parent/guardian after a bond of good behavior is signed by the student.

Prohibited grooming practices. 

Use of lip gloss, lip oil, or colored nail polish.

Growing of long fingernails.

An initial warning will be issued, followed by the signing of a bond of good behavior in the presence of parents. A repeated offense may lead to a 2-week internal suspension with punishment.   
Banging/dragging of chairs/tables in the classroom

An initial warning will be issued, followed by the signing of a bond of good behavior in the presence of parents. A repeated offense may lead to a 2-week internal suspension with punishment.

Defacing walls through writing or painting The student shall be surcharged twice the cost of repairing and required to sign a bond of good behaviour in the presence of parents
Loitering about during classes hours  Students may be asked to wash the school’s garbage bins and sign a bond of good behavior with parents present. Continued offense may lead to a 2-week suspension.
Engaging in disruptive noise-making or hooting during school assemblies or within classrooms Students may be asked to wash the school’s garbage bins and sign a bond of good behavior with parents present. Continued offense may lead to a 2-week suspension
Any act of occultism including practicing it, enticing/wooing others into it, secret societies,
voodoo, performing magic acts, chanting, rituals or any other diabolic act
Outright dismissal of the students involved and a prohibition of the practice.
Refusal to wear the prescribed school uniform, socks or footwear Confiscation of the unprescribed item: The student may be asked to wash the school’s garbage bins and sign a bond of good behavior with parents present. A repeat offense may lead to a 2-week suspension

Jumping or climbing over school walls to enter or exit the premises         

A four-week external suspension, signing a bond of good behavior, and possible dismissal for repeated offenses.

Tampering with or falsifying officially issued school documents, including fee receipts, terminal reports, and bills.

A breach of common sense is a breach of school rules.
